Solarover

The eco-friendly trashbot

FAQs

What if the Solarover runs into non-disposable items like rocks?

Plus icon

Solarover uses a scanner and camera that points at the object nearby it and recognizes what type of object it is based on the prebuilt images it has of objects similar to the one nearby it through the use of AI. If the object being analyzed does not match any of the Solarover's prebuilt images, the rover recognizes the object as an obstacle and simply moves around it.

How is Solarover different from a Roomba?

Plus icon

Solarover is very different from a Roomba as roombas only have the capability to pick up small objects while Solarover can vacuum small and large objects. Additionally, roombas do not have the ability to sort between recyclables and non-recyclables while Solarover does.

What powers the Solarover?

The Solarover trashbot is powered by solar energy through the use of solar panels on the top of the bot and electrical energy through the use of electrical wires which allow the Solarover to be charged. This combination of energy allows the Solarover to clean trash for 15+ hours when fully charged.
